Call for Applications
Impact Academy Residency Genalguacil
September–December 2025
Objective
The Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, in collaboration with the Genalguacil Pueblo Museo, is offering a three-month Impact Academy Residency in Genalguacil, Andalusia. The residency includes a scholarship of EUR 3,500 each for two graduates of the Academy.
The Impact Academy Residency follows an innovative approach: participants are invited to actively shape the social and cultural space of the artists' village Genalguacil – a village with a population of currently around 400 people. A key focus is on so called "Impact Interventions," which serve as role models for artistic and creative practices and aim to contribute to the sustainable development of rural regions in Europe. The residency emphasizes not only advancing personal artistic practice but also engaging with the village community. In line with the four pillars of the Pueblo Genalguacil – Tradition, Art, Culture, and Nature – the aim is to address current challenges through creative and participatory solutions.
