Akademie Studio-Programm 2022-23

Within the framework of the one-year Academy Studio Program 2022/23, the fellows will be able to move into a studio space in the Creative Cluster in Vienna's 5th district, either in pairs or in threes. An accompanying program in the form of Open Studios (Vienna Art Week 2022) as well as Studio Visits and Artist Talks (from 2023) will highlight the artistic practice of the participants and communicate their artistic positions to the public. At the end of the program year, a final presentation in the individual studios is planned together with the Creative Cluster. As documentation of the program year, a publication will be produced in which the fellows and their artistic works created during the program year as well as all accompanying processes will be presented.

 

 Application Requirements

  • Graduation from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna between June 2020 and June 2022.                                                                                     * Exception due to social reasons: If the degree is longer ago, there is still the possibility to submit with proof of e.g. childcare periods, illness or care of relatives, etc.
  • Completed application form
  • Diploma certificate confirming completion of studies at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna
  • Curriculum vitae with details of education and overview of artistic career to date (solo and group exhibitions, scholarships and prizes)
  • Portfolio with 5 selected works/projects of the artistic curriculum vitae to date
  • Registration form (permanent residence in Vienna)

Please note: Applicants who have already received a grant for the Akademie Studio program or ArtStart Studio are not eligible to apply again. Simultaneous participation in the Mentoring Program Art and Academy Studio Program in 2022/23 is not possible.

 

Selection criteria

  • The motivation of the participants must correspond to the goals of the Academy Studio Program.
  • Content and artistic quality of the applications
  • Completeness of the submission

 

Benefits of the program

  • Use of the studiospace in the Creative Cluster for the duration of October 3, 2022 - September 17, 2023
  • Use of the Creative Cluster infrastructure
  • Public relations and network building (framework program points as well as, final event together with the Creative Cluster, dates tbc)
  • Final publication

 

The participants commit themselves for

  • Use of the studio space according to the house rules of the CC for almost one year
  • Participation in the Studio Visits/Artist Talks or the other program points
  • Presentation of the studiospaces and participation in the final event in 2023.

 

 Schedule

  • Selection by jury: End of June 2022
  • Beginning of September 2022: Inspection of the spaces together with Barbara Pflanzner
  • From October 3, 2022: Move into the studiospaces in the Creative Cluster
  • November 2022: Open Studios @ Vienna Art Week
  • From February 2023: 1-2 accompanying program points (artist talks, guided tour, performances, etc.)
  • June 2023: Presentation of the studios together with the Creative Cluster
  • Mid-September 2023: Excerpt from the studios

 

To be submitted

  • save portfolio and curriculum vitae (German or English, max. 25 pages with max. 10 MB with last name_first name_Portfolio_ASP21/22) in one PDF file.
  • Please save the registration form and diploma certificate in another PDF file (max. 5 MB with last name_first name_registration_ ASP22/23).

 

Deadline for submission: Monday, June 6, 2022, 12 noon.

 

Incomplete and untimely applications will not be considered. There is no legal claim to the award of the scholarships. Applicants will be informed by email about the result of the selection after the selection meeting.
