Studio support program for graduates of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna

Deadline: Tuesday, June 4, 2024, 11 am

As part of the Academy Studio Program 2024/25, scholarship holders can share a studio space in the Creative Cluster in Vienna's 5th district. The program is open to graduates from all disciplines of the Academy whose graduation dates back no more than two years. Planned activities include Open Studios, brief interviews with program participants, and a closing event upon leaving the studios.

Application Requirements:

• Graduation from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna between June 2022 and June 2024.
  For those graduating in June 2024, the diploma certificate must be submitted in a timely manner upon receiving the scholarship. Otherwise, the studio space will be allocated to another person.
  Exceptions due to social reasons: If the graduation date is further back, submission is still possible with proof of, for example, childcare responsibilities, illness, or caregiving for family members, etc.

• Completed application form
• Diploma certificate confirming the completion of studies at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna
• Curriculum vitae detailing education and an overview of the applicant's artistic career (solo and group exhibitions, scholarships, and awards)
• Portfolio showcasing 5 selected works/projects from the applicant's artistic career
• Proof of residency (Permanent residency in Vienna)

Note: Applicants who have previously received a scholarship for the Academy Studio Program or ArtStart Studio are ineligible to reapply. Simultaneous participation in the Mentoring Program Art and Academy Studio Program in 2024/25 is not possible.

Selection Criteria:

• Participant motivation must align with the goals of the Academy Studio Program
• Need for studio space
• Content and artistic quality of the applications
• Completeness of the submission

Program Benefits:

• Use of studio space in the Creative Cluster from October 2024 to June 2025
• Access to the infrastructure of the Creative Cluster
• Publicity and networking opportunities
• Program activities (Open Studios, brief interviews, closing event in June 2025)

Participants commit to:

• Using the studio space and facilities of the Creative Cluster in accordance with its regulations
• Participating in the program activities of the Academy Studio Program 2024/25

Timeline:

• Application deadline: Thursday, June 6, 2024, 11 am
• June 2024: Selection of scholarship recipients by jury
• July 2, 2024: Information session for program participants (via Zoom) with Barbara Pflanzner.
• September 5, 2024: Tour of studio spaces in the Creative Cluster with Barbara Pflanzner
• October 2024: Move-in to studio spaces in the Creative Cluster
• October 2024 - June 2025: Academy Studio Program activities
• June 2025: Departure from the studios

Submission requirements:

• In a single PDF file: artistic CV + portfolio showcasing 5 selected works/projects (in German or English, max. 15 pages with max. 10 MB, named Lastname_Firstname_Portfolio_ASP24/25).
• Residency proof and diploma certificate should be saved in another PDF file (max. 2 MB, named Lastname_Firstname_Residency_Diploma_ASP24/25).

Incomplete or untimely submissions will not be considered. There is no legal entitlement to the award of scholarships. Applicants will be notified of the selection results via email after the selection session.
