Call for applications for student assistants Academy Auction 2026 - 12h

This call for applications is aimed at students in the higher semesters (BA, MA, or Diploma studies) of the Academy who are interested in assisting in organizing the upcoming Academy Benefit Auction 2026 for 12h per week.
Responsibilities
- Communication with the donors of the works
- Organizing and carrying out the transportation of the work donations
- Obtaining agreements from the participating artists
- Support in the creation of printed materials and the administration of online platforms (assistance during professional photo shoots, proofreading of German texts, etc.)
- Assistance with the proofreading of German texts
- Helping to set up and dismantle the presentation of the works at the auction
- Supervision of the presented artworks during the viewing of the works and the auction
- Assistance in the post-auction processing (handing out of donations of works to buyers, possible return transport of unsold works)
Employment Requirements
- Proof of enrollment for the current semester before the beginning of the contract
- Proof of payment of the ÖH contribution for the current semester before signing the contract
- You must not have completed your studies during the period of employment.
- Availability and ability to work under pressure, especially during intensive project phases, such as in November, December 2025 and during the Rundgang Exhibition 2026
- Ability to work on projects with a high degree of flexibility. Working hours are not distributed regularly, but are based on the respective project priorities and deadlines
Please note: Previous employment as a student employee at the Academy must have occurred at least 6 months previously.

- Excellent organizational skills, a sense for practical things
- Basic knowledge of Excel and Word
- Good knowledge of contemporary art
- Excellent knowledge of German and English
- High social competence and communication skills, sociability
- Stress resistance
- Capacity for teamwork, independent and solution-oriented way of working

Payment is handled through the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. You will receive a contract as a student assistant with a current gross monthly salary of EUR 809.80, plus additional payments. The position involves 12 hours per week from October 13, 2025, to approximately February 27, 2026. Working hours can be arranged flexibly by mutual agreement. Holding another student assistant position at the Academy during this period is not permitted.
