bari2026_bip-presentation.pdf [1.16 MB]
Theme and Concept:
The project proposes a research- and practice-based learning pathway focused on the sketches of Pino Pascali, exploring the interconnections between puppet theatre, contemporary art, and audiovisual languages.
The primary objective is to reinterpret Pascali’s sketches as a conceptual and practical basis for the creation of animated puppets, translating his television Carosello productions into a contemporary theatrical and performative format. This reinterpretation will be developed through the use of multiple and alternative materials, fostering experimentation and material research.
The program is designed to activate interdisciplinary processes that bridge tradition and contemporary artistic practices, encouraging collaboration across scenography, performing arts, and audiovisual media. The project benefits from the artistic, cultural, and logistical support of the Fondazione Pino Pascali, an institution deeply connected to the local context and to the legacy and production of the renowned artist and scenographer it represents.
