Exhibit Gallery - exhibition project autumn 2025

From now on, proposals for an exhibition project will be accepted, which will be presented in the Exhibit Galerie at Schillerplatz in autumn 2024. The call addresses people within the Academy as well as graduates and external curators.

Short term grants abroad

Deadline: Tuesday, Sep 10, 2024, 11:00am

The scholarship for a short-term stay abroad for doctoral/Ph.D. candidates supports stays abroad for e.g. research, field research, archival research, interviews, which are necessary for the dissertation or the Ph.D. project.

Dissertation Completion Fellowship 2024/25

Deadline: Tuesday, Nov 5, 2024, 11:00am

The Dissertation Completion Fellowship aims to support doctoral and Ph.D. canidates in the final phase of the dissertation until completion.

This call is addressed to all doctoral students of the Academy of Fine Arts whose dissertation agreement has already been approved and serves to collect dissertation projects for the new Academy website.

Visualization of Electoral Injustice

Deadline: Wednesday, Jul 31, 2024, 11:00am

All enrolled students are invited to submit images to visualize electoral injustice and therefor to promote the Pass Egal Wahl. We are looking for motifs that graphically depict electoral injustice and the democratic deficit in Austria using statistical data.

Erasmus+ Short-Term Mobilities for PhD Students

In order to better meet the different learning and training needs of doctoral students and to ensure equal opportunities, PhD students also have the opportunity to complete a short-term study abroad in Europe.

Mentoring-Program Art 2024/25

The program is open to graduates from all disciplines of the Academy (completion academic year 2023/2024 or 2022/2023) who wish to receive guidance through mentoring for the initial phase after their studies.

The EDITH

The edition project by the Graphics Department, Das EDITH, showcases the possibilities of contemporary art. The call is directed at students from all departments and institutes who wish to present and sell their artistic prints in this years edition.

Travel Allowances for Ph.D. Candidates

The travel allowances support regular doctoral students of the Academy in presenting dissertation/Ph.D. project results at international conferences and symposia or in the presentation of art projects.

Prize for Best Research Catalogue Exposition 2023/2024 of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna

This prize rewards outstanding contributions to the Research Catalogue (i.e. RC Expositions) by staff and students of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. We are looking for published RC contributions from the years 2023 and 2024.

UNIQA Art Prize 2024

The UNIQA Art Prize 2024 was launched on the initiative of UNIQA Insurance Group AG in cooperation with the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. It will be awarded biennially, creating a new highly endowed art prize for outstanding artistic achievements.

The Gustav Peichl Award for Architectural Drawing 2024 is intended to award outstanding architectural drawings by all regular students of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.

Lectureship program for doctoral students 2024

Deadline: Wednesday, Mar 13, 2024, 11:00am

Doctoral students are supported in gaining basic knowledge and competencies needed for academic teaching. The program contributes to the general career orientation of future university-lecturer and offers the opportunity to obtain teaching experience (co-teaching with the mentor and independent teaching).
