Spring School - Bauhaus Weimar 2025

The Academy of Fine Arts offers students the opportunity to attend Spring School at Bauhaus University Weimar as part of the Erasmus+ program. The Spring School offers 10 interdisciplinary courses in 3 different fields:

ARCHITECTURE | URBANISM | ENVIRONMENT

  1. "Building Understanding: Fostering Democratic Thinking with Building Blocks and Space?"
  2. Zero Carbon | Zero Waste
  3. Urban Design and Place Visioning for a democratic, inclusive and ecological built environment
  4. Architectural surfaces - a mirror of culture, body and space

ART | DESIGN

  1. Exploring archives and museums: critical and creative approaches to collections
  2. Reflexions and Refractions: when glass meets light

CULTURE | MEDIA

  1. Augmented Pasts: Hacking history with digital tools from the future
  2. Design as Information: Enhancing Communication and Research
  3. Trash in Media and Media as Trash
  4. Diving into the Oceanic: Critical and Artistic Research

Students can take the courses free of charge and can apply for an Erasmus+ grant of 79€ per day. Nevertheless, there are additional costs, such as travel, food and health insurance.

APPLICATION:
 
The application to the Spring School is open to regular students of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna from the third semester of study. Preference will be given to students who have not yet spent time abroad.
 
Applications must be uploaded in the form of a PDF file (max. 10 MB) and should include the following elements:

PDF files are to be uploaded no later than Sunday, October 27, 2024, at 23:00.

 

To use the submission system you have to register once (if you do not have access yet). Please use your @student.akbild.ac.at address to identify yourself as a student. Login is NOT possible with the Akademie Online password, as this is a separate system.

 

PROCEDURE:

The selection of the participants takes place in a selection meeting where the mobility coordinators and the International Office decide on the international exchange.

The result will be announced by e-mail by the end of October 2023 at the latest.


We ask for serious applications only! Students who receive an acceptance and cancel without a valid reason will be blocked from all Academy mobility programs for one year.
