Cathrin Pichler Prize

Honoring the thinker, curator, author, and teacher Cathrin Pichler, this Prize will be awarded to a student of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, who - in the sense of Cathrin Pichler - deals with specific artistic methods and practices as contribution and intervention to a scientific discourse.

The prize is endowed with 2,500 euros and an exhibition at the Academy including up to 750 euros production costs.

Enrolled students of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna as well as graduates who have completed their studies at the academy in the summer semester 2017 or later can submit their proposals. The prize applies to arts based research projects. (Qualification work such as diploma, master theses or dissertation projects are excluded!)

Jury: Carola Dertnig, Harald Krejci, Andreas Spiegl and Felicitas Thun-Hohenstein
The chosen project will be presented in autumn 2019, so there is time to realize your exhibition proposal.

The following documentation must be submitted in one single PDF with max. 5 MB and max. 30 pages

  • CV
  • description/documentation of the submitted project
  • portfolio/documentation of artistic work
  • include all films and videos via links (vimeo, youtube et all)

Include all information in this order. Filename “Lastname_Surname_CPP”.
Incomplete applications will not be included in the selection procedure.
