Cathrin Pichler Prize 2022

Honouring the thinker, curator, author, and teacher Cathrin Pichler, this Prize will be awarded to a student of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, who - in the sense of Cathrin Pichler - deals with specific artistic methods and practices as contribution and intervention to a scientific discourse.

The prize is endowed with 2,500 euros, sponsored by the City of Vienna. The certificate will be awarded in the frame of a ceremony.

Enrolled students of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna as well as graduates who have completed their studies at the academy in the summer semester 2017* or later can submit their proposals. The prize applies to arts-based research projects. (Qualification work such as diploma, master theses or dissertation projects are excluded!)

 

The jury consisting of Sabine Breitwieser, Luisa Ziaja, Carola Dertnig, Andreas Spiegl, Magdalena Stöger and Felicitas Thun-Hohenstein will select the prize winner.

 

Following documents must be submitted as PDF-files with max. 5 MB and max. 30 pages:

  • Portfolio: documentation of artistic-scientific work
  • CV

Films and videos as well as sound works may be provided via link (vimeo, youtube; incl. password) in the application mask.

Incomplete applications will not be included in the selection procedure.

* Exception due to social reasons: Graduates who have completed their studies before summer semester 2017 still may submit by presenting a confirmation of e.g. years spent for childcare, disease or care for dependents etc.)
