Call for Student Assistance Contemporary Exhibition Office

In the winter semester 2025/2026, an exhibition will be realized independently by a group of students who complete the workshop “Production and Project Management in Exhibitions - Practice” (prerequisite positive completion of the workshop “Production and Project Management in Exhibitions - theory”). We are looking for a study assistant who has successfully completed the above-mentioned workshop or have attended an equivalent course on exhibition management.
Job profile
The study assistant works in the Contemporary Exhibitions Office and is available there as a contact person for the Exhibit Studio exhibition space. They are responsible for communication with the students on the course and project controlling for the exhibition in the Exhibit Studio. They support the students in the implementation of the collectively planned exhibition project.
The call for applications is aimed at students of the Academy who have successfully completed the workshop “Production and Project Management in Exhibitions -theory” or have attended an equivalent course on exhibition management. Prerequisites are knowledge and expertise in exhibition production, project management, event management and project controlling.
Employment requirements:
- interest in the production of exhibitions, very good organizational skills and a structured and conscientious way of working
- good knowledge of both written and spoken German and English
- independent and proactive work ethic
- high social competence and communication skills
- a basic understanding of discrimination and a willingness to undergo further training in this area

General terms
The Academy of Fine Arts Vienna pays the role. Students will receive a contract as student assistant with a monthly gross salary of EUR 539,80 plus bonus payments for 8 hours per week from October 1st, 2025, to January 30th, 2026. The work schedule can be arranged in consultation with the Contemporary Exhibitions Office. A student can be employed in up to one student assistant position at the Academy. Any previous contracts as a student assistant must be completed at least six months prior. A student can only graduate by March 31th, 2026, to be eligible for the position.
Third-country nationals must obtain an employment permit without a labor market test from the AMS before starting the contract and commencing work.
