The Academy's Exhibit Studio is an exhibition space in which student works are presented. In the winter semester 2026/2027, an exhibition will be realized independently by a group of students in the course of the workshop “Exhibition Practice – Production and Management II” on the jointly selected topic.

Digital realities / Analog feelings

We exist in a constant stream of images, notifications, feeds, and algorithms. Social media and artificial intelligence merely just shape what we see; they also shape how humans perceive, remember, and represent themselves. Such digital sensory overload clashes with a certain demand towards physical presence, momentary, immediate experiences and a longing for new "sense-ations”.

The ironic parental phrase “Touch some grass” is interpreted literally here. Nature forms the idea of a place that, more than being a romanticized counterpart to technology, offers a grounding to the body itself. Smell, taste, textures, perception of place and time, identity as features that reside in the body, often connected to childhood memories, to playful curiosity and a way of trying, touching and discovering. Yet, these are being challenged by new realities and (not so) new mediality.

The central theme of the exhibition is a shift: from consumption to creation, from screens to physical appearance. What unsettling, weird, ambivalent options await us in the crossing of digital realities and analog feelings?

Works that create a combination or a gradual transition between digital and sensory-haptic approaches, works that do not shy away from a certain sense of unease, are particularly welcome. The exploration of this threshold does not need to be resolved harmoniously. More so, we are looking for a gradual intensification of tension, irritation, or uncertainty.

All media and formats are welcome - from digital and social media-based art, through installation, object, and sculpture, to performance and site-specific, spatially expansive concepts.

This exhibition is conceived as a collaboratively developed space—the selection of works will further refine the theme. We look forward to submissions that not only assert the transition between screen and body but also make it tangible.
