Emanuel und Sofie Fohn-Stipendium 2020

The foundation supports highly talented students of artistic disciplines, in particular, fine arts and art history. Also, students who complete post-graduate studies, seminars, or other advanced training are allowed to submit.

The jury under the chairmanship of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna will determine the scholarship holders:


Dr. Hildegund Amanshauser, Art historian, curator and author

Dr. Johanna Schwanberg, Director Dom Museum Vienna

Mag. Dr. Ingeborg Erhart, vice-rector for Art and Teaching of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna

ao.Univ.-Prof. Dr.phil Robert Pfaller, Philosopher and Professor at the Linz University of Art and Design

Univ.-Prof Mag. Christian Schwarzwald, Department of Graphics and Printmaking Techniques

 


Applicants (criteria are specified by the founders in the foundation deed):

Highly talented students (BA/MA/diploma) from universities, colleges and art academies within the last two years (October 2018 - October 2020)
Austrian citizenship or South Tyrolean citizens with German mother tongue

Scholarship holders from previous years are not allowed to apply once again

 

Documents need to be submitted as two PDF documents with 10 MB and 25 pages maximum each:

  • Curriculum vitae (+ confirmation of enrolement, BA/MA or diploma certificate)
  • A collective certificate of all examinations taken so far (even if you have already completed your studies)
  • Proof of citizenship
  • For students of artistic studies: additionally a portfolio with the five most important artworks
  • For students of art history: possible publications/texts
  • In case of submissions for post-graduate studies, seminars, or other further training, information on tenders and costs
  • A meaningful letter of recommendation from persons from the tertiary sector and/or from the art sector
