Kunsthalle Wien Prize 2021

Jointly organized by the Kunsthalle Wien, the University of Applied Arts Vienna, and the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, the Kunsthalle Wien Prize is awarded annually by a jury to one recent graduate of each of the two art school to bridge the gap between the academic and the professional worlds.

The 2021 iteration of the Kunsthalle Wien Prize is grounded in plurality, openness, and long-term exchange. Two winners will each receive a money prize. In addition to this, six to eight students — including the two prizewinners — will have the opportunity to present their works in a group show. This exhibition will be organized together with the curatorial team of curator of kunsthalle wien departing from the practices of the selected artists. To contextualize the emerging artists’ works in diverse formats, a publication and a public program will accompany the show.
