The admission process for the MArch | Master’s in Architecture is a two-stage application process:

Online Registration and submittal of application materials
personal interview with the admission jury

Application materials (max. file size 50MB total)

Digital portfolio with your own work
letter of intent (max. one page A4, German or English)
Curriculum Vitae (CV)
(Note: Links to videos should be included in the portfolio)
Documents
Certified copy of your Bachelor degree
Proof of German language proficiency: Level B2
Proof of English language proficiency: Level B2
One letter of recommendation (academic or professional)

Online Registration and Log-in via https://calls.akbild.ac.at

Please complete the online application form and submit your digital application documents. Once all the required application documents have been uploaded, click the ‘Submit definitily’ button to complete the registration process.
(Note: Please use the latest browser version of Google Chrome, Firefox or Safari)

Once the registration process is complete, all applicants will receive a confirmation E-Mail containing a registration number.
(Note: Please provide a valid/active E-Mail address; check your spam folder if necessary)

Application materials must be submitted digitally. It will not be possible to submit application documents or the portfolio after the deadline has passed.

To upload your application materials, please combine 1) your portfolio, letter of motivation and CV, and 2) the supporting documents (see information listed above) into a single PDF file each. Please include a cover page with your name on both PDF files. Your application documents will therefore consist of two PDF files.
(Note: maximum total file size 50MB)

Portfolio
Your portfolio should contain personal projects and work samples as also your final bachelor project. In case your Bachelor project is not finished by 27.04.2026, please hand in a preview of the work. Note: Links to videos must be included in the portfolio – if password-protected, please provide the relevant password. When using links, please ensure that they are working.
Documents
Please follow the listed information / application materials above.
Language certificates: Proof of German language proficiency and Proof of English language proficiency: both Level B2

Interviews
Personal interviews with the admission jury take place optionally in presence or via video conference. Applicants who are accepted to the interview will be receiving a personal invitation via E-Mail on 18.05.2026.

Personal interviews with the admission jury:

Wednesday, 08.07.2026, from 9 am
Thursday, 09.07.2026, from 9 am

Once the interviews have been completed, interview candidates will be informed by E-Mail of the outcome of the admissions process for the MArch program.
