Residency at Zuzeum Art Centre, Riga

We are pleased to invite students and recent graduates of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna to apply for a 6-month residency in Riga, Latvia, as part of the SPOT Exchange: Latvia–Austria program. This initiative is a collaboration between Zuzeum Art Centre (Latvia), DAS WEISSE HAUS (Austria), the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, and the Art Academy of Latvia, and aims to support emerging artists and curators in developing their practices through international exchange.

ABOUT THE RESIDENCY AT ZUZEUM:

Duration: 6 months from 1 September 2025 to 30 January 2026
Free of charge Accommodation: Private, cozy studio apartment on site — includes bed, shower, and workspace
Creative Spaces Provided:

The Greenhouse – an intimate 41.9 m² space ideal for exhibitions, workshops, and small gatherings (up to 15 guests)
The Sculpture Garden – a 541.22 m² outdoor space for larger or experimental events, performances, and installations

Public Presentation: Opportunity to present your work or project publicly at Zuzeum
Technical Support: Provided throughout the residency
Professional Encounters:

Meet the Zuzeum team and explore collaboration opportunities
Optional introduction to the Zuzāns Collection – the largest private collection of Latvian art in the world

Networking and exchange with teaching staff from the Art Academy of Latvia

ELIGIBILTY:

Open to recent graduates (Application before graduation) or advanced students of the Fine Arts and Critical Studies Diploma programs at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna

FUNDING:

The residency is funded through the Erasmus+ Internship Program (3.450€ for 6 months).
