Student employee: Online media and events

The Department of Public Relations and the Contemporary Exhibitions Office are looking for a student employee to help create online content – especially short videos – on a marginal basis starting from February 2023. We are looking for students who are interested in the Academy’s exhibition and event program and enjoy communicating this through creative online formats via social media and the Academy’s website. In addition, they will be required to assist in the media technical support of internal events.

Some of your tasks are:
  • Camera, editing and production of captions for social media videos;
  • Writing short texts, mainly in English;
  • Plan, create, and oversee social media postings and digital content related to the program of Exhibit Galerie, Exhibit Studio and Exhibit Eschenbachgasse;
  • Assistance in the media technical support (sound, video, and livestreaming) of internal events.
Employment Requirements
  • Confident use of Adobe programs (Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, etc.) and common video editing programs;
  • Very good knowledge of written and spoken German and English;
  • Experience and competence in writing short texts and postings;
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends;
  • Gender and discrimination critical competence.
Desired Qualifications
  • First experiences in event support;
  • High social competence and communication skills;
  • Structured, efficient and results-oriented approach to work;
  • Interest in contemporary art, digital media, and theAcademy’s exhibition and event program.
Formal Requirements
  • During the period of employment, studies must not be completed.
  • Proof of enrollment for the current semester before the beginning of the contract;
  • Proof of payment of the ÖH contribution for the current semester before signing the contract;
  • A previous employment as a student employee at the Academy must be at least 6 months ago.
  • During the period of employment, it is not possible to take up another student employment at the Academy.

Notice: This activity is – due to its description – unfortunately not exempt from the Employment of Foreign Nationals Act. Therefore, third-country nationals must obtain an employment permit without a labor market examination from the AMS before starting the contract and commencing work:

Payment

Payment is made through the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. You will receive a contract as a student employee on a marginal basis with a monthly gross salary of currently EUR 442,00 plus special payments

for 8 hours per week from beginning of February 2023 to end of January 2024. The working hours can be arranged by agreement and are to be divided equally between the Contemporary Exhibitions Office and the Department for Public Relations.
