Student Assistance Fund

The Academy of Fine Arts Vienna would like to offer financial assistance to socially disadvantaged students from third countries*, stateless persons, beneficiaries of subsidiary protection and convention refugees and therefore provides a sum from the proceeds of the annual Auction.

The support fund is allocated annually by the Rectorate.

Application period

May 02nd to May 30th 2022 (11 a.m.)

Application requirements

  • Active regular diploma, bachelor or master students at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna
  • Citizenship of a third country*, or
  • Stateless persons, convention refugees or persons entitled to subsidiary protection
  • Social need

* Except all member states of the EEA (which means: 27 EU-member + EFTA-states Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway) as well as Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Exchange students and dual citizens of an EU member state do not qualify for this grant.

Necessary for submission

Please note that submissions are only possible via the Academy's submission system https://calls.akbild.ac.at/. The following documents have to be attached to the submission:

  • Upload 1: the residence registration certificate (“Meldezettel”)
  • Upload 2 as one PDF-File:
    • Actual confirmation of enrolment
    • Passport
    • Tabular curriculum vitae
    • Proof of the examination activity of the last two semesters. If you are still at the beginning of your studies, please submit activity of the completed courses so far and the courses you are currently attending. (download via AkademieOnline - Studium - Studienerfolgsnachweis)
    • Consistent and consecutive bank account statements for the last three months
    • One letter of recommendation from teaching staff of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, which should mainly focus on the applicant's social need, his_her previous academic progress and motivation for studies.

Only applications with complete information and documents that conform to the criteria listed above can be considered.
