Poster Motif 'Pass Egal Wahl' 2025

In Vienna, one third of the population of voting age is currently not entitled to vote! In some districts even half of the population!

On the occasion of the 2025 City Council elections in Vienna, SOS Mitmensch is organising the Pass Egal Wahl. The Pass Egal Wahl (translated no-matter-what-passport election) is a project to address the issue of voter exclusion and offers the possibility of self-empowerment for people who are not entitled to vote, as well as the promotion of solidarity among people with Austrian citizenship. SOS Mitmensch has initiated this competition in cooperation with the Academy to design the main motif to promote this project. The motif will be used to mobilise people to vote in the Pass Egal polling stations, which are organised by SOS Mitmensch and numerous cooperation partners.

The SOS Mitmensch team will have the motif set according to the campaign's visual identity. By participating in the competition, participants agree that the submitted motif may be overwritten and cropped as part of the graphic design of posters and social media posts.

Jury members:

One teacher each from IBK and IKL, one person from AfG, one student, Vice-Rector for Art and Teaching and two representatives from SOS Mitmensch.

Submission requirements:

  • Regular study at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna

  • Availability regarding requests for post-production in the course of March 2025

Submission:

No more than one motif may be submitted per person. Printable designs as .jpg and .tif in a minimum resolution of 300dpi are to be submitted. Designed for portrait format and suitable for print formats up to DIN A1 (59,4cm x 84,1cm).

The submitters confirm that they are the sole holders of any rights to their design. They agree that SOS Mitmensch may use their submitted motifs in printed and digital form for the poster design, stating their authorship. All submitters agree to publication with attribution of authorship.

  1. One printable .jpg und .tif format DIN A1 (CMYK, 300dpi, only the motif), max. 25MB

  1. The below mentioned variation of the motif using the text and Pass Egal Wahl-Keyvisuals as three separate PDF files (max. 25MB per file):
  • A) Portrait DIN-Format for posters (300dpi, up to DIN-A1, printable, CMYK)
  • B) Quare for Social Media (72dpi, 1080x1080px)
  • C) Banner-Format for Website (72dpi, 1500x600px, RGB)

 

Please note that all three documents must be uploaded separately as PDF files with the following file names:

Specifications for layout variants:

The Pass Egal Election key visual including SOS Mitmensch-Störer should be included on the poster. Regarding the size of the font and logo, see the subjects of the last Pass Egal election HERE or HERE); this can be downloaded HERE in various formats.

Use of the CI fonts of SOS Mitmensch: Noto Sans, Regular/Medium/Black (can be provided as a .ttf file if required).

The CI colors of SOS Mitmensch can, but do not have to be used:

CMYK Red 0|90|80|0, White 0|0|0|0, Black 0|0|0|100

The layout should also take into account:

Space for the addition of further details and additional logos for adaptation for mobilization to polling stations: The subject serves to mobilize participation in the Vienna Pass Egal Election 2025 in general and will be used in Vienna-wide Pass Egal polling stations, at least in the period from mid-March to 23 April. This requires the possibility to add detailed information about the respective polling station and, if necessary, the logo of the respective cooperation partner (see e.g. subject adaptations of the main subject of the last Pass Egal election HERE or HERE)

Award:

The jury selects one motif from the entries which will be awarded 500€. The award-winning poster will be used for printed matter and social media posts for the campaign of SOS Mitmensch in the context of the election to the Vienna City Council and District Councils – and the author will be credited accordingly.
